Blackwood Forest Overnighter
May 10th and 11th
Come for a fun filled, fully catered weekend exploring some lovely backroads through Blackwood forest. Starting in Sunbury the initial kilometres out of town are smooth and fast and a good chance for everyone to settle into their rhythm before we head into the forest and onto some rougher dirt backroads, there might even be a bit of easy singletrack thrown in for good measure. Along the way you’ll be greeted by pop up feed stations pumping out snacks and tunes to get you psyched for the O’Briens crossing Hillclimb. Arriving at camp you’ll find an amenities hall, toilets and a shower block. There’ll be crew on site already getting snacks, dinner and campfires prepped.

Distance: about 80km and 1600m of climbing per day.
Checkpoints: Lerderderg gorge crossing day one. Blackwood township day two.
What to bring: camping gear, a few snacks, plate, bowl, cutlery, warm clothes for around camp.
Bag drop: Don’t want to carry your gear? Drop it at the shop the Friday before and collect it at camp*. (limited places so if you are used to carrying your gear please do)
Dinner and entertainment: We will be catering dinner and breakfast as well as feed stations on both days. After Dinner there’ll be a screening of “Camera Corner: Wende Cragg Documents the Birth of Mountain Biking” produced by the Radavist, as well as drinks from Inner North Brewery as well as a selection of non-alc beverages.
